Speech and Language Services

• Initial assessments and consultations, virtually, for children 7 years and under  
• Assessments for children under 48 months involves an initial phone call and follow up using a video session with the child and parent  
• Assessments for children 5-7 years can range from 1-3 hours depending on the child and the assessment being done
• Follow-up virtual consult and therapy sessions are 30-45 minutes, depending on the age of the child and speech/language need
• ​Written assessment reports are provided upon request for an additional fee ​
• Parent Coaching with children (under 36 months) is provided to help families learn and utilize important early language stimulation strategies based on the Hanen parent education programmes (I am a Hanen Certified SLP.)
• Liaise by phone with preschool and childcare or school staff, First Words, CHEO School Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS), CHEO Autism Programme, CTC, School employed staff including SLPs, allied health professionals in private practice (OT, PT, Social Workers, Psychology and Medical staff) with parent permission
