A: Most children engage easily with the clinician as the digital and nondigital activities are age appropriate.

Q: What do I need at home to engage my child in Virtual Care Assessment and Consultation?
A laptop or desk top computer, or a tablet or smart phone are needed. A webcam is also essential, either built into your
device or an external one.
If your child is a toddler (36 months or younger), I will request that we meet with some activities (books, pretend play items,
bubbles etc.) at your end specific to your child's age and interest.
If your child (4-6 years) struggles to hear or process language, a child sized headset
is also beneficial.
Q: What video conferencing application will I need to download?
A: You will need to use the google chrome browser but will not need to download software for the video conferencing meeting.
You will be sent an invitation and you need only click on the link sent to you prior to the visit.
Q: What forms of payment are accepted?
A: Fees can be paid by: Electronic transfer at the time we meet by video.
Q: Are receipts provided per session?
A: Yes. Receipts are provided for all services and can be sent by email.
Q: Can I claim speech/language virtual services under my personal insurance?
A: Yes. If you do not have personal insurance, speech services can also be claimed under Medical on your income tax forms.
Q: Do I need an initial assessment to receive therapy and how long does it take?
A: Yes. An initial assessment provides important information about child's goals. Assessments are scheduled on an
hourly basis and can range from 1-3 hours, depending on the age of the client. Older students need more time.
Q: Am I required to do anything during and in between sessions?
A: Yes. All children must have an adult attending virtual care sessions to support learning and focus.
